North Platte, NE Area Guide

Organized in 1874, North Platte was plotted along the Union Pacific Railroad lines and is a geographic center maintaining a nearly equal distance between Denver and Omaha.  Today the town is divided by US Highway 83, which runs directly through the center of the town running North and South.  US Highway 30 and I-80 run through and along the side of the town.  North Platte is nestled between the North and South Platte rivers that connect just east of the town.
